Unconscious Love Affairs
Für die Ausstellung Unconscious Love Affairs in der Artists Unlimited
Galerie haben Werhahn & Puschendorf zwei serielle Arbeiten
entwickelt. Alltägliches wie Mobiliar, Materialien und Bilder findet
sich in ungewöhnlichen neuen Kontexten und Modifikationen wieder und
lässt so skurrile, humorvolle und für sich sprechende Abbilder des
Lebens entstehen.

construction under construction
As commonly known within the process of construction every plan
gets changed and modulated on it‘s way from theory to practice, from
status quo to the desired condition. Essential reconstruction and
target-oriented approaches lead to variations, temporary experiments and
improvisation. Material and tools are becoming a medium of
communication. The desire for realisation, the motivation through
perfectionism and the temporary improvisation that is leftover of these
ambitious attempts... Werhahn & Puschendorf are approaching the
supposed status quo and face the collective constructions of longing,
questioning the durational process of construction.Werhahn &
Puschendorf arbeiten mit von ihnen gesammelten dokumentarischen Fotos
von Baustellen und entwickeln nach deren Vorbildern ihre neue Arbeit,
eine Rauminstallation/ein provisorisches Regelwerk.

ARMADA, Sun Sphere Reigns
Julia
Werhahn and Luisa Puschendorf develop sculptures and site-specific
installations. Working with different media they are searching for
images, that are expressing conditions between concentration and
distraction: Lounges, common rooms, holding areas are images they are
interested in. Szenarios, abstract digital city drives, deformed
objects, and images of daily life.

SEIZING THE IVORY TOWER#4: Werhahn Puschendorf
Julia Werhahn und Luisa Puschendorf develop a new installation that
deals with the ambivalence of public and private spaces. Both artists
have been concerned with this topic a for an extended period, and create
sensitively, fully composed scenarios, which show different ways in
which people arrange their lives, and how they attempt to adapt within
it. In their installation Room No. 3, the visitor encounters a
sort of futuristic lobby: flooded with light, the sculptures are
presented behind glass, and seem to enclose the conserved past and at
the same time also a promising future. The room is an exhibition space
and a waiting room at once. Whether the art or the viewer is at the
center of attention is a question left unanswered.
